  • Provide seed to increase crop variety and improve nutrient content (better seeds - better output)
  • Expand the fishery
  • Promote farming as a business and develop add on products
  • Organize skill base training for the orphans, teach them to feed themselves
  • Recruit and train the community in Agriculture/Business

In addition the USA/SL Master Leaders will:

The Lungi project in three years time will allow 60 Farms and a total of more than 12,000 individuals to realize food security. At the end of three years more than 6000 acres will have lush, healthy crops in their soll and seed for planting the next season crops will be in the storing/drying facilty waiting for distribution. Three water wells will be added to ensure enough water for healthy crops. Children that were without a home will call the Childrens Centre home and go to school with 100 of the local children on their campus. If they feel ill they will be able to visit the Health and Nutrition Center that will serve the community. The Community Center will have seen the USA Farmers instruct more than 300 classes in farming as a business, seed saving, crop rotation, marketing, canning and more. The people of Lungi will have their bodies nourished and their minds fed. Possiblities are endless when a person is empowered!

SEED Distribution Program Details

G's has identified 60 Farms that will be responsible for planting, harvesting and saving seeds from the LSAdderson, Inc, donation of Organic Vegetable and Herb Seeds. The first year will create the Community Seed Bank for family and community use. Second year increase production by 20% and place 10% of the seeds in the Community Seed Bank. By using premium donated seed the risk of crop failure is decreased with better inputs. Farmers will be trained on crop rotation and diversification to take advantage of specific seasons and weather patterns (keep the land and food cycle active). The USA Farmers will create a market place that will provide the Farmers with a reliable steady market for their produce, thereby increasing their economic well being.

The first group of farmers will be responsible for planting, harvesting and saving seeds from the LSAdderson, Inc donation of Organic Vegetable and Herb Seeds.
